Austrian Energy Drink manufacturer brings energy and excitement to Singapore’s Orchard Road

24th April 2011 – 4pm. Mark that down on your calendar because Red Bull and F1 veteran David Coulthard are set to tear up the tarmac at Singapore’s iconic shopping district Orchard Road.

Organized by Spectrum Worldwide, the same people who were involved in the OCBC Cycle as well as 2010′s Standard Chartered Marathon, this year’s Red Bull Speed Street event promises to be a heart-pounding showcase of technology and driving skills. If  the event earlier this month on the 3rd of April in Kuala Lumpor is anything to go by, the audience is going to have

Although Red Bull Racing has exhibited a racecar in Singapore previously (at the Chingay Parade of 2008), that 5 minute demonstration was merely a prelude to the inaugural Singapore Formula One night race. This time, the audience will get the real deal as the Red Bull F1 race car will be put through a medley of burnouts, donuts and sprints for the viewing (and hearing) pleasure of the audience. For many, this will be the most intimate experience with an F1 car that they are ever likely to have.

To do justice to the occasion, Red Bull has decided that a short 5-minute demonstration would not have sufficed; this time, the audience gets 1 hour of high-octance, tyre-shredding action with David Coulthard at the helm. What’s more, this event is free admission. What better way to celebrate Red Bull Racing’s tremendously successful campaign last season and the successful introduction of Formula One in Singapore than with an event such as this?

The Singapore leg of the Red Bull Speed Street event will stretch from the junction of ION Orchard all the way down to Mandarin Gallery – in other words, right through the heart of Orchard road with the main VIP area and pit garage located at Ngee Ann City’s Civic Plaza. Other exhibitors will also be on hand to lend even more excitement to the event. Gamers should check out Sony Entertainment’s Playstation 3 Gran Turismo 5 Gaming Zone for a try on the Red Bull X2010 fantasy car. At the same time, a bevy of rare cars such as the Audi R8 LMS and Audi TT RS will also be on display – expect an amazing time this weekend!
