With the monsoon season acting up on our sunny shores, it came to no surprise that it would rain, yet again, on a day where the sun would have done some proper justice to impressive 100 or so Audis that turned up for the inaugural HighPerformanceAudi.com (HPA) Audi Tuning Get Together held on Sunday 15th January at Kallang Carpark F.
Solely organized by the people from HighPerformanceAudi.com, they brought the many Audi owners around Singapore to come together to talk about their beloved rides and the passion and effort they put into tuning them. Personally, I had never seen so many Audis in one place, much less tuned ones.
Tuned you say? Well, I’m not the least surprised if you are. Many relate that word to the Japanese automotive industry. Road gripping, power-packed monsters that tear the Tsukuba track in under a minute but no one would ever think continental cars had as much tuning as their Japanese counterparts.
In fact, people tend to relate continental cars to business executives. Old men who drive around in say, a Mercedes Benz S Class with their business suits on, heading down to a corporate lunch at the Fullerton. You get the idea.
Audi, on the other hand, may be continental but many fail to see past the stereotype. Personally, I would classify Audis under ‘sporty luxury’. For the ‘young at heart’ executives who still love tinkering with their rides.
Which is why it was no surprise to see the many tuning brands and companies that came down to lend full support to the meet up. Brands like Supersprint, well known for their lethal exhaust systems and Dynamic Performance Engineering (DPE) Wheels, who are known for their custom forged wheels, also came down as well.
As the meet up progressed, more cars came down to form up for a group shoot. I cannot say more, other than that these were not your original, out of the factory Audis. Usually, continental cars came in black, silver, or white. The Audis present were loud, in every sense of the word. We had an Audi S5 in bright red to an Audi TT in bronze and a whole lot of quad exhausts.
The meet up was an eye opener, albeit it being a short one. Spanned over two hours, it was hard to cover every single Audi that turned up with the relentless rain. However, it was still a change for us. After covering so many drift events like D Experience and SPARK Motorsports Drift Clinic it was nice to feel a change, once in a while.
We would like to thank John from HighPerformanceAudi.com for hooking us up with the meet-up and the many Audi owners who came down to make the event a success.

Thanks for the great writeup guys. Was great to have you cover the event!
It was our pleasure HPA! We hope your members and the readers loved the event as much as we did!
(ed note: The rain didn’t seem to do much to damp the spirits of the HPA group or the attending vendors and contributors. You guys have a great thing going!)
